The makers of “Succession” created an addicting TV event between black humor society satire and family drama about power and loyalty. The series delighted audiences and critics alike and won a total of nine Emmys and two Golden Globes in 2019 and 2020.
When asked whether Rupert Murdoch and his international media company “News Corp” served as a model for “Succession”, showrunner and author Jesse Armstrong explains: “It’s a fictional family. We thought of the Murdochs, William Randolph Hearst, and Robert Maxwell as we wrote. We were basically interested in all stories about the succession in an empire and the interdependencies between politics and the media. “
In the new season, the power struggle in the media dynasty escalates. Logan Roy was ambushed by son Kendall and is forced to seek family, political, and financial alliances. Tensions mount as a bitter company battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.
Season 3 of the drama series “Succession” will be available on demand from November 22nd on Sky Show. Seasons 1 and 2 can also be streamed on Sky Show.
