Spotify can now display lyrics for songs in the apps for smartphones, on desktops and on gaming consoles. This is done with a blue bar at the bottom of the screen that users can pull up to see the text.
The feature is in updates that Spotify will distribute from Thursday, reports the Swedish company. After the update, users will see a small blue bar at the bottom of the screen showing the controls and the album artwork. It can be pulled up and opened to view the lyrics.
With some songs, the app can highlight the text that appears in the song, although that is not the case with all music. The function was already available in several dozen countries, but now it is worldwide and users in the Netherlands and Belgium can also use it.
The lyrics are available to users of paid and free subscriptions to the music service. The Behind the Lyrics function, which provided extra information about the lyrics or the artist for certain songs, will disappear with this, writes Techcrunch.
