Holland is close to 21 thousand daily infections from Covid. In the last 24 hours it has been 20,829 new cases registered, the highest number ever since the start of the pandemic, on the seventh consecutive day of record data. The dead are 44, the highest number since May. The people hospitalized are 2077, of which 402 in intensive care.
Over the past seven days, the Dutch Public Health Institute Rivm has detected a 48% growth in infections compared to the previous week. Rotterdam and Amsterdam are the most affected cities.
Last weekend the government imposed a partial lockdown to counteract the new wave of infections in this country of 17.4 million inhabitants. There are contact restrictions and reduced hours for restaurants and shops. The obligation to wear a mask and respect social distances has been reintroduced.
