NEW YORK – Three people were shot in downtown Manhattan Tuesday night, according to police, who added that they had two people in custody.
Police said an area of West 38th Street near Bryant Park would be avoided “due to a police investigation.” No other details were immediately available about what happened, but a senior police official said the shooting appeared to have stemmed from a dispute at a music venue.
Police say the three victims, one of 19, 27 and 24, were attacked.
One of the victims, the 24-year-old, was in critical condition, while the other two were in stable condition after being operated on at Bellevue Hospital.
Two firearms were recovered at the scene.
Two people were arrested, police said, although their involvement in the shooting was also unclear.
