four Angers supporters in custody

Four Angers supporters aged 22 to 35 were placed in police custody and heard on Wednesday as part of the investigation into the overflows during the SCO-Marseille match (0-0) on September 22 in Ligue 1.

“The investigation identified five Angevin supporters, they were summoned this morning to the police station, four showed up. They were placed in custody,” said the prosecutor of the Republic of Angers Éric Bouillard .

OM supporters will also be heard

Marseille supporters “will be heard later, but very quickly,” said the prosecutor.

On September 22, after throwing firecrackers, several dozen Marseille supporters left the visitors’ area to confront the Angevin ultras in the neighboring stand before the stewards restored order. No one had been hurt.

According to the prosecutor, the respondents from Anjou are heard “for having entered the sports area without authorization and disturbing the competition, a specific violation of the sports code”.

Suspicion of violence for three Angevins

And, “a priori three of them” are suspected of having committed violence “either on stewards or on supporters of the opposite camp”, detailed the prosecutor.

At the beginning of October, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League had cracked down after these incidents, Marseille suffering in particular from a withdrawal of one point suspended. Angers had been sanctioned with two matches behind closed doors for his Coubertin stand, one of which was suspended, and a fine of 20,000 euros.
