Annual inflation in Latvia was 6% in October. The highest inflation last month was in Lithuania (8.2%), Estonia (6.8%), Hungary (6.6%), Romania (6.5%) and Poland (6.4%).
In October, compared to the tenth month of 2020, inflation was registered in all EU member states.
EU average annual inflation was 4.4% in October, compared with 4.1% in the euro area.
Compared to the previous month – September – consumer prices in October in the EU increased by 0.9%, but in the euro area – by 0.8%.
In Latvia, as well as in Greece, Hungary and Slovenia, compared to September, consumer prices increased by 1.1% in October, but in Lithuania – by 1.7%. The highest monthly inflation was in Belgium (1.8%), while monthly deflation was recorded in Estonia (-0.2%) and Malta (-0.6%).
