Pfizer Creates Experimental Cure For Coronavirus Infection

Now drug manufacturers around the world will be able to provide an experimental drug to 95 countries.

US pharmaceutical company Pfizer has signed an agreement with the Medicines Patent Pool that will allow others to manufacture their experimental drug for the COVID-19 coronavirus. About it reported on the eve of the press service of the company.

“The agreement builds on Pfizer’s comprehensive strategy to ensure equal access to COVID-19 vaccines and drugs for all people, especially those in the poorest parts of the world,” the statement said.

Under this agreement, companies around the world will be able to manufacture an experimental coronavirus drug, PF-07321332, which is administered in combination with low-dose ritonavir. It will facilitate additional production and distribution of the investigational drug while they await regulatory approval. Drug manufacturers around the world will be able to provide 95 countries with the new drug.

Earlier this month Pfizer reports effective results researching their oral COVID-19 medication. The study showed that the drug can reduce the risk of hospitalization or death due to infection by 89%.

The Medicines Patent Pool is a United Nations-backed organization that promotes the development of medicines for low- and middle-income countries.
