The Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía begins this Monday, October 18, the administration of the third dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 from Pfizer or Moderna to those over 70 years of age, in which they have spent more six months after receiving the second dose. This third dose against the coronavirus has already been advanced to immunosuppressed patients and in residences.
This vaccination will be carried out in primary care centers where they will be offered inoculation with the third dose of Covid-19 along with the flu vaccine. To do this, they must request an appointment through ClickHealth +, through the mobile application and the Salud Responde phone number (955 54 50 60) and also at your health center, preferably by phone.
It should be remembered that the Public Health Commission, in which the autonomous communities and the Ministry of Health are represented, agreed on October 5 to administer this third booster dose to those over 70 years of age, which will be followed by the group of 65 years, as well as carrying out this vaccination together with the flu vaccine, as claimed by several communities, including Andalusia. There are internal reports that support that it could be done as long as they are inoculated “in different anatomical places.”
In addition, after this Friday the flu vaccine began to be administered to institutionalized people in nursing homes and disability centers, this Monday the campaign against the flu for those over 65 begins, regardless of whether or not they have pathologies, people over six months of age with chronic diseases, as well as pregnant and postpartum women.
In total, almost 52,600 doses against the flu will be administered throughout Andalusia and it was the first autonomous community to start the 2021/2022 campaign. In addition, the administration of the vaccine to nursing home workers and all health and social health personnel in Andalusia has begun. In total, 1,645,000 doses of vaccines have been purchased.
On the other hand, the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) again organizes this week new massive days of vaccination against Covid-19 without an appointment to continue advancing in the immunization of the population and facilitate the administration of both first and second doses to people over 12 years of age not yet vaccinated.
The Board has recalled that the people who have passed the coronavirusIf they are between the ages of 12 and 65, they must wait at least four weeks to be vaccinated. In addition, it will continue to serve users who request vaccination by appointment at the fixed points enabled.
