The female guest of the episode de Hyenas tonight, November 16, was a bit of a surprise Elena Santarelli. The soubrette replaced the singer at the last Ornella Vanoni, hit in the past few hours by a bad flu syndrome. The Santarelli, in episode, in addition to supporting Nicola Savino at the conduction, he held in front of the cameras one of the intense monologues that have become a trademark of this edition.
If last week this space had seen Michela Giraud expressing herself on the theme of body positivity, this time Elena Santarelli has chosen to return to a subject very dear to her. As we might have expected, the presenter and wife of the football player Bernardo Corradi he had to raise awareness on the delicate issue of the fight against cancer and on the ordeal of many mothers who, like her, have had a case of cancer in their families. Santarelli had to face the illness of her son Giacomo, a long journey that led her to meet many special people and strong mothers like her.
In the monologue, therefore, the showgirl speaks, with a liberating outburst, of the sense of guilt that one can feel for the good fortune of a recovery and of returning to life.
Here is an excerpt from Elena Santarelli’s words to Le Iene:
Tonight I’m not talking about my son’s illness. But how to get back to life. During and after the illness. I am ashamed of doing it. I heard words that made me feel dirty. Like: “But how do you leave your son alone?”. I was ashamed to go back to work, to go out to dinner with my husband. Even going to the hairdresser when I heard another woman whisper: «What the fuck is Santarelli doing here? I would stay at home with a sick child. […] Today I am grateful that my men, Giacomo and Bernardo, are with me. And I’m grateful I learned this lesson, one of the few I can teach my female friends: don’t feel dirty, don’t feel guilty. I felt like a wrong mother, but I don’t want to do it anymore. And don’t do it either. Don’t be afraid to come back to life.
How understandable, given the great emotion, Elena Santarelli let more than a few tears escape. Very similar scenes already seen in the numerous recent hostesses of the soubrette between Mediaset and Rai, where she regularly failed to contain her emotion. In the meantime, many messages of solidarity arrived via Twitter to Santarelli, who in recent times has had to face a stalker on social media who persecutes her.with unworthy messages addressed to her and to her son Giacomo.
Today, the host’s son, fortunately, is fine. As always happens with a disease like this (Giacomo was struck by a malignant brain tumor) it will always be necessary to keep an eye on the situation to make sure there are no relapses. In any case, at least for the moment, some serenity seems to have returned to the Santarelli-Corradi family.
