2552 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Norway last 24 hours, which is 246 more than the same day last week. This is the highest registered number of infections in one day in Norway. The previous peak of infection in a day with 2126 corona infections was noted on Tuesday a week ago.
In the last week, an average of 1760 corona infections have been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 1467, reports NTB.
Hospitalized
The number of patients admitted to hospital with the coronavirus detected was 218 on Tuesday, which is seven fewer than the day before, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

Of these, 52 corona patients are in the intensive care unit

Average age of infected
At midnight on Wednesday night, a total of 232,839 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Norway, according to the Messaging System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).
The average age of those who have been diagnosed with the infection so far is 31 years.
Preliminary figures show that 952 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020. The age group with the most deaths is people aged 80-89, and 54 per cent of all deaths are men, figures from the National Institute of Public Health show.
FHI emphasizes that it is not always possible to know whether a coronary patient has died of or with the coronavirus.
