Siniaková and Krejčíková had little, but the champions did not allow their first defeat at the Tournament.

Tennis players Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková managed the third match at the Champions Tournament. The tournament number one turned the duel with Alexa Guarachi and Desirae Krawczyk, the Chilean-American pair defeated 5: 7, 7: 6 and 10: 7 in Guadalajara, Mexico in a super tie-break and won the El Tajín group.

Olympic winners from Tokyo will face the US-Dutch pair Nicole Melichar, Demi Schuurs in Tuesday’s semifinals

This year’s champions Roland Garros Krejčíková and Siniaková went to break first in both sets, but in the opening set Siniaková lost her service three times, the last time after a double mistake in the twelfth game. The second set reached a tie-break, which the Czechs dominated with a ratio of 7: 3. In the decisive super tie-break, they won three balls in a row from 4: 4 and Krejčíková secured the last two points with her service.

“Our opponents played very well, it was very demanding and I am very glad that we won in the end,” said Krejčíková on the court. “We are fine, we are good partners and I am very happy to have Bara by my side. It would be great to win the trophy, but we still have a lot of work to do and it will be difficult,” Siniaková added towards the doubles cup named after Martina Navrátilová.

Krejčíková and Siniaková play the Masters in doubles for the third time in a row and in the semifinals they are in the same way as at their premiere in 2018, when they finally lost in Singapore in the fight for the title. The last time of the Czechs, Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková and Hungarian Tíma Babosová celebrated the triumph in 2017.
