December is approaching with great strides. And with that, the winter break in the 1st Bundesliga is getting closer. But that in turn means that fans will soon be able to look forward to two matches live on free TV. Because the private broadcaster SAT1 has secured the rights for it. On the one hand for the last matchday of the first half of the season. Just as for the start of the second half of the season. That is why FC Bayern runs twice live on free TV.
So while FC Bayern is playing live on free TV twice – again – fans of the East German clubs are watching the tube. SAT1 reports on Friday with the start of the 17th matchday (December 17, 2021) exactly one week before Christmas Eve with the sporting gifts and shows FC Bayern Munich against VfL Wolfsburg live on free TV. Immediately after the turn of the year, the next live game between Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach is on the program on free TV on the first Friday evening of the new year. This is also the start of the second half of the 21/22 season after the winter break. Both games will kick off at 8.30 p.m.
December starts with Union against Leipzig
But of course not everything is limited to FC Bayern live on free TV with the new dates for the 1st Bundesliga match schedule 2021/22 and the kick-off times of the DFL for game days 14 to 21. Our editorial team gives you an overview of the best games and duels in the weeks before Christmas and at the start of the new year. On the 14th matchday, there is a real highlight on the program from an East German point of view.
Because Union Berlin opens the 14th round of the first division on Friday evening in the stadium An der Alten Försterei against the bulls of RB Leipzig. It is the start of an exciting December. Because the next day the absolute top game will take place on Saturday evening between BVB and Bayern Munich. Hertha BSC will then open the Sunday with a guest appearance in Ländle at VfB Stuttgart.

The best comes last? You could actually put it that way. Because the DFL has fixed all appointments up to the 21st matchday. And in that 21st round, on February 5th, starting at 6.30 p.m., the next cracker will take place between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
