The Paraguay Cup already knows the two teams that will fight for the title in the 2021 edition and that will be the third champion of the competition, which began to be played in 2018 and in 2020 had a pause due to the pandemic.
There was a name that was repeated in the two previous finals, but that in this edition was quickly left out: Guaraní. El Aborigen had won the title in 2018 and was runner-up in 2019, but in 2021 he was eliminated in the first phase against Christopher Columbus of Ñemby.
While Olimpia again agreed to the defining match after having done it in 2018, where he fell on penalties after an emotional 2-2 against Guaraní in the 90 minutes and this season he will go for the title that escaped three years ago.
For his part, the reigning champion Libertad was looking to revalidate his title, but could not against Olimpia in the penalty shootout and was left with the desire.
In this way and after two disputed finals, the “new” name in the defining instance is Sol de América, Juan Pablo Pumpido’s team that throughout the competition left out February 3, Rubio Ñu, Cerro Porteño, Santaní and Tembetary and will seek to strike in the final against Franjeado.

Olimpia became undefeated champion in Reserve this Monday, after drawing in the regularization classic 2-2 against Cerro Porteño. The team led initially by Julio Cáceres and now by Francisco Esteche, swept away with a fabulous performance.
The Dean had no rivals for his selective in the Reserve category. The team of “Paco” Esteche won 12 of the 15 games played and the three remaining games were equaled, both against the traditional rival, Cerro Porteño and against Sportivo Luqueño.
This Monday, the Franjeado equaled 2-2 against the Cyclone with goals from Gustavo Peralta and Diego Duarte, to be crowned champion three dates before the end of the tournament.
The team that began being led by the now DT of the First, Julio Cáceres and later by “Paco” Esteche, made a total of 39 points in 15 matches, with an effectiveness of 86%.

On November 24 will be the grand final of the Paraguay Cup between Olimpia and Sol de América, two First Division teams that will fight to win their first trophy in this competition.
The great definition of the Paraguay Cup in its third edition is almost certain to be on November 24, at the Defensores del Chaco stadium. The only thing missing is for the APF to officially make official this week.
El Franjeado reaches his second final in this competition and this time he does not want to miss it, as it had happened in 2018, when he fell to Guaraní, the first champion of the tournament.
Olimpia had a solid campaign in the Paraguay Cup. They eliminated Deportivo Primavera de Ka’arendy (UFI team) in the final thirty-two, which they thrashed 6-0. Then he “crossed out” Cristóbal Colón from JA Saldívar (First B) by 3-2 and in the second round he beat Resistencia (Intermediate) by the minimum 2-1. In the quarterfinals he eliminated Guaireña 2-0 and this Sunday he “erased” Libertad on penalties (5-4), after equaling 1-1 in normal time.
For its part, Sol de América had very renowned rivals at the beginning, but ended up suffering with a less ranked and lower-category rival (First B). In thirty-two he crushed 6-0 at February 3 of the Ricardo Brugada neighborhood (of First B), then in the round of 32 he beat Rubio Ñu (Intermediate) in a great game 4-3. In the round of 16 he “crossed out” Cerro Porteño 2-0, in the quarterfinals he eliminated Santaní by the score of 1-0 and after a goalless draw in normal time, he went through penalties against Tembetary to reach the grand final.
