Dexter: New Blood: What Happened to Hannah McKay?

TV’s favorite benevolent serial killer Dexter is back on screens in an all-new revival, Dexter: New Blood.

But not all of the characters fans have come to know and love from the show’s original airing are not back.

Who is Hannah McKay?

Hannah McKay, played by Yvonne Strahovski, was first introduced in the seventh series.

It quickly becomes apparent that, like Dexter, Hannah is a serial killer in her own right – and she started her killing spree when she was just 15.

Although he initially planned to hunt her down and kill her, Dexter ends up loving Hannah and they eventually begin a romantic relationship.

At the end of the series, Hannah is seen to have taken custody of Dexter’s son, Harrison, in Argentina – where the two have started new lives as mother and son.

The last time we see them, it’s Hannah escorting a young Harrison to buy ice cream.

What happened to Hannah McKay?

In Dexter: New Blood, Harrison grew up and reunited with his long-lost father in New York City – but Hannah is nowhere to be found.

According to Harrison, Hannah died three years before waking up after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

Harrison explains how it got him to be sent to many foster families before deciding to search for his father.

As Hannah dies offscreen, some fans wonder whether or not Harrison is telling the truth about what happened to him.

Some think it’s possible she’s alive there, after all – or maybe something else has happened to her.

However, it looks like actress Yvonne Strahovski is currently attached to other projects, so it doesn’t look like she’s likely to make a comeback – at least, not yet.

Still, fans are hopeful that she might be back on the new show later, or that we might see flashbacks of her time raising Harrison in Argentina.
