GTA Trilogy has an average score of 0.5 on Metacritic

Oops, the gentlemen and ladies at Rockstar don’t seem to be getting off easy after the release of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. After the remasters of the three classic GTA titles were released earlier this week, the critical side of the internet put the developer on fire. On the Metacritic platform, the bundle of games even gets an average score of just 0.5. Ouch…

Many fans felt offended by the alleged laziness with which Rockstar has treated the GTA Trilogy. Okay, the graphics have improved quite a bit, but the fact that several old codes can still be found in the code from the remasters doesn’t sit well with many fans of the franchise. Previously, data miners brought to the light that, for example, various codes of old music tracks and the Hot Coffee mod are still processed in the remasters and that shows, according to the internet, of lazy work from Rockstar.

These accidental files even caused the PC version of the GTA Trilogy to be taken offline and that was the last straw for many fans. De Wacht can therefore somewhat put itself in the position of the handful of people who compare the reissue of this trilogy with the release of Cyberpunk 2077. But even that game didn’t score as low on Metacritic as the GTA Trilogy, if De Wacht did its memory. don’t let him down.

Hopefully Rockstar learns its lesson, because despite the easy copy-and-paste, the Watch believes that the GTA Trilogy is a damn fun re-release that can be had a lot of fun in a modern way. If the developer learns from the various flaws of this trilogy, there may be a dose of big remasters from the Rockstar stable in the offing. Although the Guard is still eagerly hoping for a brand new game from the developer. GTA 6, anyone?
