Singer-songwriter Tom Helsen raises money to prevent someone from ending up in poverty again through funeral

Singer-songwriter Tom Helsen has started a fundraising campaign to prevent an acquaintance from ending up in poverty again because of a funeral bill. She had previously been plunged into poverty due to the high bill from her first husband’s funeral. Now that those debts have been paid off, her new partner has also died. “I don’t want her to experience the same misery again,” Helsen tells VRT NWS.
