On November 4, Nintendo announced that it will be forced to adjust the sales forecast for the company’s console “Nintendo Switch”, by 1.5 million units, for the current financial year.
The reason is stated to be partly the global shortage of semiconductors. “There have been no major improvements in the situation,” said the company’s CEO Shuntaro Furukawa.
Since then, similar messages have come from Valve regarding the game developer’s handheld “Steam deck”, which is delayed from December to February. Sony, which is already suffering from delays in its Playstation 5, also recently announced that it will be forced to write down the number of units produced from 16 to 15 million units for the financial year.
