We interviewed the stars of the Christmas romance Wishes to Santa Claus. Richard Krajčo (44), Hana Vagnerová (38) and Veronika Khek Kubařová (34) told us about their favorite Christmas movies, how they will spend the holidays, or what their potato salad looks like. About the movie
Why should viewers watch The Wish for Santa?
Richard Krajčo: Because I think it’s a very nice movie. It contains humor, emotion, tenderness … actually what we all need today. And it worked terribly, which the actor can’t always say about every film when he sees it as a result. And the people who saw the film wrote to me that they were excited. It certainly serves a purpose to please, entertain and impress.
Hana Vagnerová: It is a classic pre-Christmas film, emotional, fragile, but also cheerful. It will definitely warm the soul of the audience.
Veronika Khek Kubarova: Everyone can find themselves in it, because there are a lot of stories intertwined in it. It’s a kind Christmas thing with lots of lights. In addition, I think it was very rare to catch real snow in a Christmas movie.
Do you have a story from the shoot?
Richard Krajčo: I enjoyed filming with my boyfriend. I have children at home and I basically felt like I wasn’t even going home from work, but home again. Actually, I didn’t even play anything and it worked great between us. The children who play in the film are incredibly clever.
Hana Vagnerová: We needed snow that wasn’t much. Everyone, including the producer, flew with a shovel and tried to throw the little snow we had according to how the camera was spinning. It was quite fun, while viewers can imagine how much physical effort it took to shoot (laughs).
Veronika Khek Kubarova: Filming with Eva Holubová and Jarda Dušek, who are already a legendary couple from Pelíšky, was an experience for me. I was present at their improvisation on the set, and what was going on there wouldn’t fit in a single story, they were really amazing. In addition, I played with Táňa Pauhofová, whom I really like.
About how they spend Christmas
What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Richard Krajčo: The main thing I love and I don’t miss it every year is Heavenly Love and then Wings of Christmas, a Czech film fairy tale that has influenced my life a lot.
Hana Vagnerová: About Three Nuts for Cinderella.
Veronika Khek Kubarova: I am a lover Alone at home, part one and part two. This is our classic. Then there is Heavenly Love and, in fact, all fairy tales.
What can’t you imagine your Christmas without?
Richard Krajčo: It’s nothing special, but I just can’t imagine my mom not making a potato salad. This is the only potato salad I can eat, others don’t like it. So I only eat potato salad once a year, namely my mother’s. In recent years, as one gets older, he wishes that as many of us as possible would meet at the Christmas table. So my children will not be missing either. There were twelve of us last year.
Hana Vagnerová: Probably without meeting the family and we’re together. This has become crucial not only because we are no longer children, but mainly because of what is happening around now, so I take it as a great gift.
Veronika Khek Kubarova: No lights, I love you. And without your loved ones. We don’t necessarily have to be together, but I need to know that everyone is fine.
Does potato salad include salami?
Richard Krajčo: It definitely doesn’t belong in our salad because I’m a vegetarian.
Hana Vágnerová: No, not at all.
Veronika Khek Kubarova: What salami? Not for me, but an apple, for example.
