Due to a malfunction at one of the suppliers of the GGD, the corona figures of the RIVM are distorted today and in the coming days.
The outage started this morning and lasted until early afternoon. The figures from yesterday, when 16,266 new infections were reported, are therefore not distorted.
Today 13,902 infections have been registered, 2464 fewer than yesterday. A spokesperson cannot say how big the bias is, or whether the impression is that the infections have increased even further. However, yesterday and today it was exceptionally busy at the appointment line of the GGD.
The numbers are expected to be completely correct again early next week. Experience has shown that malfunctions lead to distorted figures for up to a few days after they have been rectified.
Today’s outage also resulted in people who had tested positive being informed a little later than usual.
