No one in northern Macedonia thought that Zoran Zaev would really resign from two positions – that of prime minister and that of party chairman, journalist Vlado Perev told NovaNews about Zaev’s decision to resign after losing the local elections.
According to the journalist, Zaev’s statements should not be taken for granted because they are full of promises and opinions. Perev pointed out that the resignation is something that is accepted normally and without big surprises. He also commented on Zaev’s words that the country should not return to the past so as not to endanger the country’s Euro-Atlantic interests.
“Someone is trying to shift the blame to a foreign country. First was Greece, which had resistance to the name. Now, when Zaev says not to look back, he says to leave the interpretation of the historical past and look forward. In simple words – the Bulgarian side to withdraw from the veto and to withdraw from the path to the European Union. He is trying to force Bulgaria to make a cardinal concession and give up a large part of its history, “he said.
Perev pointed out that there is active talk in Skopje that the country will be admitted to the European Union. According to him, the entire burden of Western European democracy has fallen on Bulgaria. But no one in the country believed that anyone who came to power in our country would agree and sign the veto to be lifted.
“The statements of Macedonian politicians against Bulgaria should not be taken seriously. They are already funny. For 30 years, however, the Bulgarian side has been silent and doing nothing to stop anti-Bulgarian speech. I am amazed by the silence on the Bulgarian side. Bulgaria is the culprit on duty. All my life I have heard that Bulgarians are Tatars, fascists and traitors “, Perev shared.
