Cilacap Oil Refinery Fire Occurs After Heavy Thunderstorms, Residents Can Hear Bangs

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Oil refinery Pertamina in Cilacap, Central Java, burned on Saturday (11/13/2021) night.

Reported by Kompas TV, the news of the fire was also confirmed by the General Manager Oil Refinery Cilacap, Eko Sunarto.

Meanwhile, a resident of Cilacap, Deni Alamsyah, said that the burning oil refinery was on Jalan MT Haryono, Lomanis, Central Cilacap.

According to Deni, before the fire, the Cilacap area had been raining heavily since sunset.

Then suddenly there was great lightning and a bang.

After that, the flames from the Cilacap oil refinery began to be seen.

“Initially it rained heavily, then there was lightning. After that, I heard a big bang,” said Deni to Tribunnews.com, Saturday (11/13/2021).

Furthermore, Deni said, at his house which is in the center of Cilacap City, about seven kilometers from the fire site, the sky now looks reddish.

“From the city, the sky looks red,” he explained.

Until now, the rain is still pouring down the Cilacap area, although the intensity is not as big as before the fire.
