For information, filariasis is also known as elephantiasis disease.

The Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Tana Tidung District Health Office, Hanna Juniar said, the implementation of this pre test aimed to determine the success of administering mass prevention drugs or POPM Filariasis.

The graduate from Gadjah Mada University said that the pre-test will be held tonight, at around 22.00 WITA.

Hanna said that the implementation of the pre-test at night would have its own reasons.

“Yes (it must be done at night), to see the worm vector in humans,” he said.

He further said that the pre-test will last for three nights, starting tonight until Tuesday (11/16/2021) night.

The bespectacled woman said that the participants who will be pre-tested are participants aged 5-55 years.

Not only transmitted from animals to humans through mosquito bites. This disease can also be transmitted from human to human through mosquito bites.

“In the body man, filarial worm larvae grow into worms mature and can produce millions of young worms or microfilariae,” explained the Director of P2P Infectious Vectors and Zoonotics, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, quoted from Tribunnews.com

“Worm mature it will live in the ducts and lymph nodes, so it can cause blockages. Until finally it becomes permanent disability,” he continued.
