A dozen people demonstrated this Friday morning on the Dijon market against the vaccine obligation. The tone is sometimes raised a notch between passers-by and masked demonstrators.
They demonstrated this Friday, November 12 in Dijon against the vaccination obligation of nursing staff. A nurse, two retired medical secretaries, a therapist, among others, strolled around the market hall. At the center of their demands, the reinstatement of suspended staff. They called out to passers-by, waving posters against the vaccine obligation.
Masked protesters
On the spot the atmosphere was tense between the masked demonstrators waving unequivocal signs and some of the onlookers. “We are protected by the police because we have been jostled while it is a non-violent movement ”, explains Catherine Bouton, retired medical secretary
Protesters held up their posters until late morning. “You wanted to get stung to go clubbing and there you are”Could be read on the signs brandished by masked caregivers.

Among the masked demonstrators, a retiree from the medical sector. “The event brings together vaccinated and unvaccinated people because today it is no longer a health problem but a political problem ”, explains Catherine Bouton, retired medical secretary.
“We are against the vaccination of children”
Among another object of their grumbling, the suspensions of unvaccinated nursing staff. “NOTe are with colleagues who are suspended, they are hospital workers who no longer have a salary, who do not have the right to work, so it is an inadmissible measure. The right to work is all the same the right to live ”, adds Catherine Bouton.
The vaccination of the youngest is in question for these demonstrators. “We are against the vaccination of children. Today there are a lot of side effects and then they are not sick so why we absolutely want to sting them ”, protests the retiree.
So, at the end of the morning on the Dijon market, the demonstrators do not hesitate to go to passers-by to raise their awareness. “We seek to bring together people who have questions and who think that this is not admissible ”explained the protester.
“Take back employees”
Their demand goes to the employers. “We are asking the hospitals to take back the employees. They say that in the hospitals there are not enough staff and there are services that are suspending the caregivers, that is not possible ”.
A year and a half ago we applauded them and today we incriminate them and we treat them as criminals, it is unacceptable.
According to the retiree, “the fifth wave should already be demonstrated, it’s not true, the intensive care units are not filled with patients. They tell us what they want to tell us ”.
The numbers related to covid-19 in the region are there. 76 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is back above the alert threshold. In Saône-et-Loire, the situation is tense with a 25% increase in the incidence rate in a few days. 39 people are currently hospitalized.
