Gävle (dpa) – With a quarter-final victory at the Sweden Major against Team oNe, the German team Rogue qualified for the Rainbow Six Invitational. Furthermore, Rogue keeps his chances of a major win in the Swedish Gävle upright.
At first, however, it looked anything but good. The Brazilian team showed a dominant performance in the first game of the best-of-three series. But Rogues coach Matthew “meepeY” Sharples was able to shake his players awake.
“He took a timeout and got us out of this state,” said rogue player Leon “LeonGids” Giddens in a press conference after the game. Then Rogue caught up and controlled the game until the clear 2-0 victory (8: 7, 7: 5).
However, the team didn’t have much time to celebrate their surprising success: “Now let’s watch the other games and relax for an hour or two,” said meepeY. The opponent for the semifinals will be determined in the game between Ninjas in Pajamas and Spacestation Gaming.
