AFTERNOON The Bandung Regency Health Office (Dinkes) appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) during the rainy season.
Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) fluctuate, but during the rainy season, the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) must be watched out for, because it often increases. This was said by the Head of the Bandung Regency Health Office, Grace Mediana Purnami.
“When entering the rainy season, the population Aedes aegypti will increase because the eggs that have not hatched will hatch when their breeding habitat begins to be flooded with rainwater. This condition will increase the mosquito population so that it can cause an increase in the transmission of dengue disease,” said Grace when confirmed Friday (12/11).
“Mosquito survival Aedes aegypti it will take longer if the humidity level is high during the rainy season, therefore, people should be more alert during the rainy season. Then another disease that must be watched out for is diarrhea,” he added.
He also stated that the number of dengue cases in Bandung Regency in 2021 was not as high as the previous year. However, said Grace, the public still needs to be vigilant.
“Actually, for the spike in cases compared to the beginning of last year, we compared with last year, not as high as last year, maybe only 50 percent,” said Grace.
