TV: Källström rages after Pepe’s expulsion: “My God

Portugal is chasing a place in the Qatar World Cup 2022 and lost away on Thursday night against Ireland in the World Cup qualifiers. Star players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes played from the start, but despite that Portugal did not manage to get a hole in the home nation and the match ended 0-0.

When Portugal would get a forcing at the end of the match, the hard-hitting midfielder Pepe was also sent off. Pepe stretched out one hand and arm against Callum Robinson’s face, which resulted in the Portuguese receiving his second yellow card and thus being forced to leave the pitch. Pepe and Ronaldo protested against the decision, but to no avail.

C More’s expert Kim Källström understands the Portuguese players.

– I do not know, yellow card for that and miss a decisive match against Serbia at home …, says Källström and continues:

– But my God, look at the consequences. It’s a disaster.

Portugal now tops the qualifying group with 17 points, while second-placed Serbia also has 17 points, but with a four-goal worse goal difference. Portugal will face Serbia on Sunday in a group final for a direct place in the Qatar World Cup. Then Pepe is off.
