According to information from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as of November 9, Colombia exceeded 50 million doses of vaccines applied against covid-19. The report published this Thursday on the serums applied has been the highest since August 6. 427,278 people were vaccinated and 7 out of 10 (301,132) received the first dose (or only, depending on the case).
This increase in vaccinated people could be explained by the latest measures announced by the Colombian Government, which through Decree 1408 of November 3, 2021 resolved the requirement of the vaccination card – in which at least the beginning of the scheme is evidenced – in places and leisure activities.
That is, Colombians will have to present this certificate if they want to enter public or private face-to-face events that involve massive attendance and bars, gastrobars, restaurants, cinemas, discotheques, dance venues, concerts, casinos, bingo halls and leisure activities, as well as sports venues, amusement and theme parks, museums, and fairs.
The Government of Antioquia created the initiative “Vacunarte gives you more” that is being developed until next Sunday, November 14, in the Premium Plaza, Los Molinos, Santafé Medellín and Viva Envigado shopping centers. The initiative aims to advance the special vaccination days and the incentive consists of offering discounts, promotions and other incentives to those who present their vaccination card.
Carlos Hernán Betancourt, executive director of the Association of Shopping Centers of Colombia, affirmed: “the objective of this articulated work is to get all of us to join the national vaccination plan and with this we can inject greater dynamism into the process of economic reactivation of the region and the country”.
Decree 1408 of November 3, 2021 would enter into force on November 16 for those over 18 years of age and on November 30 for those over 11 years of age.
