Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Communist party China (CCP) agreed to the third resolution in the history of the Bamboo Curtain Country in the party’s plenary meeting today, Thursday (11/11). The resolution is expected to strengthen the grip of the President Xi Jinping.
News agency Xinhua reported that the historic resolution was approved by about 400 members of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee who were present at the plenary meeting.
An official present at the meeting said the resolution summarizes “a proper view of the history of the party.” According to him, the resolution is “the greatest epic in Chinese history for thousands of years.”
“The Party Central Committee calls on all party members, soldiers and people of all ethnicities to unite more closely with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its root, to implement a new era of Xi Jinping socialism with Chinese characteristics,” the resolution quoted the resolution as saying. The full contents of the resolution have not been revealed. However, analysts predict the resolution will strengthen Xi Jinping’s grip on Chinese politics. During his tenure, Xi continued to call for an anti-corruption campaign and strengthen the domestic economy.
This plenary meeting itself will pave the way for the 20th congress of the Chinese Communist Party to be held next fall. At the congress, Xi is expected to be given the power to rule for three terms.
If true, Xi is said to be China’s strongest leader after Mao Zedong. Before Xi, only Chinese leaders Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping had ever issued a CCP resolution.
The two Chinese leaders both used the opportunity to strengthen the grip of the leadership until they finally died.
In Mao’s doctrine published in 1945, the resolution focused on eliminating political enemies and creating the value principle that only he has the “right line of leadership” to lead the party.
Meanwhile, Deng’s resolution document condemns Mao’s Cultural Revolution ideas. Deng also used the document to strengthen power over China.
