The popular Latvian TV series “Tunnelis” will soon return to the next generation of Go3 television viewers with a new season. In the second season, the struggle for freedom will continue outside the prison walls, but new characters will join the heroes of the first season. The premiere of the new season – November 22.
The series “Tunnelis” is not only the first in Latvia, but also the most watched original Go3 series, the tense relations of the main characters, the intrigues of the prison and the hopes of breaking out were able to captivate the spectators with the tense events.
The storyline of the series has developed since the events of 1994 in Jelgava, when 89 prisoners escaped from Pārlielupe Prison. Tens of thousands of people were involved in the search for the fugitives, and mass detention continued for ten years. The story of the second season is the series’ interpretation of what could happen after the big break.
The series resumes at the end of the first season – the prisoners break free and disperse, but they are noticed and a chasing chase begins. From the very beginning, viewers will be introduced to new heroes who will play an important role in the further development of events.
While it may seem that the long-awaited sense of freedom will bring relief, the main characters in the series enter new situations from which to escape. Hostages are also involved, and the break-up of prisoners is becoming the most discussed topic in the country. The question arises, is the prison wall the only one that separated the heroes of the series from freedom?
The first season surprised the audience with an excellent line-up of actors, so the creators of the series have added other bright and surprising characters to the already familiar characters, which will be played by popular and popular actors. The actors of the series “Tunelis” will be joined by such stars as Andris Bulis, Anete Berķe, Jurijs Djakonovs, Andis Strods, Kaspars Gods, Gatis Gāga, Ivars Auziņš, Januss Johansons, Artis Drozdovs, Dārta Daneviča, James Tratas (Lithuania), Gints Grāvelis, Ilze Pukinska, Inga Alsiņa-Lasmane, Normunds Laizāns, Mārtiņš Liepa and others.
