Meeting between Corine Hazoumé, founder of Cer-Afrique and Angelica Maria Mayolo, Minister of Culture of Colombia
–
In 2018, as part of the opening of a cultural bridge between Latin America and Africa, Corine Hazoumé, Founder of the Cer-Afrique workshops and Media consultant received Colombian Afro-descendants, including Esperanza Bioho PEREA, director of the Colombia Negra Socio-Cultural Foundation. Films on the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria have been made; hence African artistic and cultural values were presented in Bogota, Colombia.
In return, the icon of African culture open to the world received a special invitation from the Minister of Culture Angelica Maria Mayolo in Colombia for November 17, 2021 and for the strengthening of cooperation between Africa and Colombia. Ultimately, these cultural exchanges will allow African artists, actors and operators to export their talents and skills.
The Colombia Negra Foundation, which enabled this great lobbying, is celebrating its 43 years in the service of “negra” (black) art and culture. Festivities: dances, music, exhibitions, theater… are planned to mark this great event.
Corine Hazoumé says she is honored by this invitation from the Colombian authorities, which is a great recognition of the actions carried out by her Cer-Afrique structure for the elevation of African culture. This new pole of expression is a chance for Africans and Afro Colombian descendants, who have common roots, to come together around art, crafts and culture.
