Leven presented his resignation to parliamentary speaker Andreas Norlen on Wednesday.
Leven already announced in Augustthat he will leave the post of chairman and head of government of the Social Democratic Party in November. He wants to enable the party to better prepare for next year’s parliamentary elections next September.
