We could soon pay for some features on the Instagram social network. At least that’s what the price list that appeared on the Apple Store suggests.
Instagram started playing with the idea of paid content in the summer. Now it seems that the first users will start testing the novelty soon. The price list of payments in the application has now appeared in the description of the application on the Apple Store. He brought the information TechChurch.
The prices of the new functions start at 21 crowns, the most expensive are 108 crowns. There are two types of paid content in the price list – Instagram Badge and Instagram Subscriptions. However, it is still unclear what the exact difference will be between the two functions.
So far, it seems that the paid content will be in the form of popular Stories. These are only displayed to users for 24 hours. Authors can set today who will see their Stories.
Newly, followers could pay for access to exclusive Stories from their favorite authors. Thanks to a special badge, fans would then be able to see content that would only be displayed to subscribers. Exclusive Stories would also disable the screenshot feature. However, the author could save them to selections on his profile, where paying followers could continue to see them.
Payments would work in the form of monthly fees. The money would then go to both the creator and Instagram itself.
This feature is very similar to the Patreon system, where users pay monthly fees to access the content. Many instagram creators already use Patreon to share exclusive content for their fans. Paid Stories could make their work easier for authors.
Other applications have already introduced paid content options. On Twitter, this is the Super Follow feature, which the company launched in August. There are many channels on paid membership on YouTube, where the subscriber gets some benefits, including access to exclusive videos or can see the videos sooner.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri commented on the planned news in the summer. “I love them because they give the creators a direct relationship with their fans,” Mosseri said at the time.
