Dozens of arrests in the Netherlands in action against itinerant gangs

At border controls at the Dutch-German border, another 51 people were arrested at the same time.

Seized vehicles

Ten vehicles were also seized in the Netherlands. There were 27 throughout Europe. In addition, prohibited weapons, large amounts of cash and drugs were also seized.

The action called Trivium took place from 3 to 5 November under the coordination of the Dutch police and in collaboration with Europol and fifteen other countries, including Germany, Spain, Serbia, Albania, Romania and Malta.


The action, which was held for the fifteenth time, targets internationally itinerant criminal groups who commit crimes such as shoplifting, burglary, fraud and pickpocketing, also known as mobile banditry.

This summer, four pickpockets were arrested in Amsterdam who were after expensive watches.

In total, almost 25,000 people, more than 16,000 vehicles and 800 locations were checked throughout Europe during the campaign
