The Breast Cancer Awareness Law was passed – Diario del Sur

Entre Ríos gave final sanction to the Law promoted by Deputy Jorge Cáceres that adheres to National Law 26606 that seeks to raise awareness and sensitize the population about the importance of prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

After its approval in the Chamber of Deputies, the Entre Ríos Senate approved the Law that establishes adherence to National Law 26,606, through which October of each year is instituted as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month “with in order to raise awareness and sensitize the population about the importance of prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Deputy Jorge Cáceres (Bloque Frente Justicialista CREER Entre Ríos), author of the bill, said that “this Law seeks to prevent a very important pathology, which, diagnosed in time, has more than 90 percent accessibility to the cure.”

He also stressed that the initiative “seeks to be a tool for raising awareness and promoting annual gynecological check-ups, since the best way to fight cancer is through early detection.”

The Entre Ríos Ministry of Health, through the Provincial Cancer Institute, will be in charge of generating and arbitrating the necessary measures to carry out public activities aimed at information, awareness and education aimed at addressing the subject of this law.
