Surveillance video captured the moment an armed thief fired a gunshot into the ceiling of a Bronx hair salon in a robbery that brought in $ 10,000 in cash to the triggered thief.
The suspect, dressed in a red hoodie, pulled out a handgun during the Nov. 6 robbery on East Tremont Avenue near Vyse Avenue in West Farms, according to images released by police on Monday.
He then aimed the gun at the store’s employees and customers before pointing it at the ceiling in the back corner of the store and firing a bullet, the video shows.
The suspect demanded a bracelet and chain that an employee had put up for sale online for $ 13,000, cops said.
The worker refused to hand over the jewelry, but another employee handed the thief a full envelope of $ 10,000 in cash, police said.
The suspect raced away on a moped after the robbery and was not caught. No one was injured in the flight, police said.
