Paul Pogba will not appear in the final two duelings of French footballers in the D-group of the World Cup 2022. Manchester United midfielder was injured during Monday’s national team practice.
Twenty-eight-year-old Pogba prematurely ended the national team training unit at Clairefontaine National Academy when one of the shots hit him in the thigh. According to the French Football Federation, he suffered a quadriceps injury on his right leg. Jordan Veretout from AS Roma will replace him in the squad.
The French will welcome the Princes’ Park in Kazakhstan on November 11, and three days later they will play against Helsinki in Helsinki. So far, they are at the top of the table with a three-point lead over Ukraine and they only need one victory to advance to Qatar.
