With a heavy heart the longtime deputy Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Board member Lukas Bechtold from the board of directors of the VDI district group: Unfortunately, professional and private changes with relocation make further cooperation impossible. Bechtold had been responsible for the local student and young engineer working group since 2015 and was officially elected deputy chairman in February 2017 after six months of interim work.
Dr. Ing.Jörg Dehmer was elected, who was Head of Quality Management and Methods at Bosch Rexroth AG, Lohr, until 2020 and is currently involved in two start-ups.
The head of the district group, Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Ulrich MBA, thanked Bechtold for the intensive cooperation and is pleased to have found a well-networked colleague in Dehmer, with whom the presence, which had suffered greatly in the Corona period, is strengthened again among members and in the public can.
The VDI district group Würzburg comprises the districts of Würzburg, Main-Spessart and Kitzingen and currently has around 820 members. In addition to regular meetings and company tours, the district group supports individual projects at the University of Würzburg and the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and in 2019 launched a sponsorship award for MINT projects at high schools in the catchment area. It has also transferred considerable funds to the VDI Lower Franconia Foundation, which in turn also supports larger projects, for example within the framework of “Jugend forscht”.
