The chain’s Danish communications manager, Jonas Schrøder, says that they have now introduced requirements for corona passports for all the well over 1000 employees at the warehouse.
– We believe that it is best, for us all to take care of each other, that we introduce this measure, so we ensure that the infection does not spread further, he says to the Danish online newspaper.
– Get support
The company must have spent a few days considering whether to introduce the requirement. Since the infection has risen both in the community and within the company, they concluded that it was time for corona pass.
Schrøder points out that the central warehouse is a large workplace, and that the infection can quickly spread further.
– We have only experienced support around the decision, he says to Danish TV 2.
The requirement came into force this weekend, and applies to both warehouse employees, canteen staff and administrative staff.
–
To be allowed to come to work, employees must show that they have either been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, have built up immunity after being infected with corona or have taken a negative corona test within the last three days.
Quick test
If you show up without a valid corona passport, you will be asked to go down to the city to take a quick test, before you can go in and start working.
– This corona passport is not a requirement that you must be vaccinated. There are various elements that can give a valid passport, the communications manager emphasizes to Danish TV 2.
There is no requirement for a corona passport to shop in Rema 1000’s Danish stores. The employees in the shops must not wear face masks either.
– Not rated
Head of Communications Hanne Knudsen in Norwegian Rema 1000 says that it has not been considered to introduce similar measures in Norway.
– We comply with current guidelines and regulations from the Norwegian authorities when it comes to infection control measures, she writes in an email to Dagbladet.

– In addition to maintaining efficient operations during the pandemic, our focus has been on ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and a safe shopping experience for our customers, in line with local and national guidelines, she adds.
