Dr AG Jeetoo Hospital in Port Louis will be Plan B in case ENT Hospital cannot cope with the growing demand from Covid-19 positive patients requiring ventilation and high oxygen intake.
This was proposed following a recent meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health.
The oxygen production capacity by the oxygen concentrators of the ENT hospital has already been exceeded. Thus, Dr AG Jeetoo Hospital was chosen as Plan B because of its ability to use liquefied oxygen instead of compressed oxygen cylinders, thus allowing for greater storage capacity.
