Johanna Grønneberg Mesa: – Incredibly strange and would be a mother again

In October 2012, Johanna Grønneberg Mesa (41) mom for the first time when daughter Savannah (9) saw the light of day.

Last month, exactly nine years after the birth, came the good news that the TV profile and her husband, music producer Vincent Pryme, are now waiting his second child.

Two weeks ago, the expectant mother also revealed the gender of the baby on Instagram.

Guessed the wrong sex

The video shows a little boy hiding in his stomach.

Now Grønneberg Mesa reveals that she was taken to bed when she discovered that she was expecting a son this time. She herself had the feeling that it was a girl.

– I was surprised when we found out that it was a boy, because I had the feeling that it was a girl. So was very surprised but very happy. It will be fun with one of each, she shares.

Furthermore, the 41-year-old talks about the thoughts about becoming a mother again nine years after the daughter was born.

– It is incredibly strange to be a mother again so long after. It almost feels like it’s brand new. I’m wondering if I’m going to do something different this time, but I do not really think so.

Grønneberg Mesa, known from among others «The farm celebrity» and “Camp Kulinaris”, also admits that she is not so good at giving herself advice. She has forgotten a lot about how things were, but wants to remind herself that “it will be good”.

– I spent so much time thinking about whether I was going to make this happen. If I became such a mother as I myself thought and wanted. I spent a lot of time finding the recipe and thought I had to follow the flow even though I did not like it, she tells Dagbladet.

Strange “carvings”

Today she knows that this is not necessarily the case.

– Routines are your routines, breastfeeding is for some and others not, you can live where you want, take maternity leave if you want, join a maternity group or not. Children can start kindergarten when they are one year old, later or drop it. You can simply do what suits you and yours best, and it’s nice to feel confident about that, she explains to Dagbladet.

Grønneberg Mesa, who lives in California, has a term until the spring. Last month, she admitted that she is finally over the worst nausea and fatigue. But she can now reveal that she has many weird “carvings” a day.

– I want everything! Just mention something and I want it. It does not even need to be mentioned in connection with food, she laughs, and explains that when a friend recently mentioned the word “couch potato”, which means sofa pig in Norwegian, she had to go and buy potatoes.

And when some mothers on the football team talked about what to make for dinner, the TV profile itself ended up with seven different dinners.

– I had to have everything they talked about.

Does not exclude more TV

When Grønneberg Mesa became pregnant with her daughter, she was seen in the TV program «Johanna: Project baby». At that time, she took the cameras into the delivery room, among other things.

She does not rule out that this pregnancy may also end up on the TV screen.

– Hm, it will probably not be a new season in the same way. If we end up with another twist, we are still thinking about. Not everyone in my family is as happy to put their face on the screen as I am and I have to respect that, she told TV 2 in October.

Grønneberg Mesa has also previously been open about losing a child.

– I was very unsure if this was something I wanted to talk about, but it was exactly what I had felt for myself, that it seemed like no one was talking about it. Why? All doctors and those around you say that it is important that you do not feel any guilt about what has happened, but why do we not want to talk about it? Maybe because it hurts so much. But it gets a little easier when you know that this has happened to several of us, she told Dagbladet in 2019.
