Eagles – Chargers (24-27) : Justin Herbert a déplumé Philadelphie

Philadelphia Eagles (3-6) – Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) : 24-27

In its scenario as in the quality of play, this match did more than keep its promises. After a mano to mano of 60 minutes, the Chargers finally won at the end of the suspense.

The duel of young quarterbacks was thrilling, between a Justin Herbert (32/38, 356 yards, 3 TD) imperial in the air and a Jalen Hurts (162 yards, 1 TD, 62 yards on the ground) in his role of double threat . The Eagles stayed in the game with an effective attack on the ground, but the defense sank in the face of Steamroller Chargers.

Los Angeles should have won this game earlier, but the main thing is done with a win after two straight losses. The Eagles can draw some positive from this match, but this new defeat is likely to be expensive for the race to the playoffs.

Chargers advance, but struggle in fourth attempt

After a poor performance against the Patriots, Justin Herbert had the pressure, he quickly responded to criticism. If the first 98-yard drive ends on an unconverted fourth, the next drive is a touchdown by Stephen Anderson (39 yards, 1 TD). The attack is in form, and Philadelphia is back to the wall (7-0).

Still, Jalen Hurts and the ground game respond quickly. In a drive almost exclusively on the ground, Philadelphia returns to the score carried by a Jordan Howard (71 yards, 1 TD) untenable for a historically weak defense in the field (7-7). The defense then gets the job done, managing for the second time in the game to stop the Chargers’ offense in the fourth attempt. 181 yards for Los Angeles, for only 7 points, the efficiency leaves much to be desired.

On the Philly side, the recipe is simple: 13 staff, and groceries. Again and again. This strategy has two advantages: moving the team forward and eating the clock. After a drive of 16 games for 68 yards and 7 minutes of play, the Eagles mark the field goal to pass at half-time (10-7).

A suspenseful match

The return of the locker room for the Chargers looks like the first act. Yards, again and again, but only 3 points (10-10). Justin Herbert diversifies his targets, Donald Parham (39 yards, 1 TD) to Keenan Allen (104 yards) through Joshua Palmer (22 yards), but the attack liquefies in the red zone.

The click will come in two passes, thanks to an imperial Justin Herbert. A 49-yard pass for Mike Williams (58 yards), and a touchdown from Donald Parham. Los Angeles finally finds the fault and passes in front (10-16).

But Philly has heart, and for the second time in the game they return with their backs to the wall. Devonta Smith (116 yards, 1 TD) turns the defense, while Jalen Hurts begins to distribute in the air well helped by an imperial Lane Johnson on the line. The drive ends on the ground with a touchdown from Kenneth Gainwell, and the Eagles are ahead (17-16).

Luckily for the Chargers, they have a great quarterback to guide them. And when justin herbert is not using his arm, he is using his legs. Touchdown, and Los Angeles comes back in front in a crazy game (17-24). To return to the game, Philadelphia will rely on a pair of chox: quarterback Jalen Hurts, and receiver Devonta Smith. The two former Alabama teammates drive two and the Eagles equalize on a touchdown pass from 28 yards (24-24).

The following? Justin Herbert, panache and a field goal.
