Novak Djokovic, No. 1 in the world, conquered for the sixth time in his career the Paris Masters 1000 by defeating by 4-6, 6-3 and 6-3 the current champion Daniil Medvedev (2nd), who had deprived him of receiving the four ‘Big’ in the same year, in September in the US Open.
The Serbian thus conquered the record of 37 titles in Masters 1000 tournaments, the category lower than those of the Grand Slam, improving by one the mark of Rafa Nadal.
Djokovic made sure on Saturday finish the year as number one of the world ladder for the seventh time, which is also a record, by exceeding the American Pete Sampras, with six times ending the year at the top of the standings.
