Police reported the fire just before midnight and four cars from the fire department were sent to the scene.
At 0.29, the Oslo police report on Twitter that the fire has been extinguished and that no one is injured. Several residents evacuated themselves from the building.
According to the police, investigations carried out on the spot indicate that the fire may have been started. Witness interviews are now being conducted.
Several units from the police are searching the area both for people who may have information about the incident and for objects that can be linked to the fire.
On Sunday night, a fire broke out in a café in an apartment building in Oslogate on St. Halvard’s Square, also in the Old Town. Two men were seen running from the scene, and the police suspect that the fire was also started.
