NEW YORK – New York City Police say a woman was shot in the leg in a fight outside a Queens neighborhood on Saturday night.
The 48-year-old victim was not the intended target, police said.
Authorities said the woman was caught in the middle of an argument between two tow truck drivers in Ozone Park. The men were supposedly fighting over who would tow a vehicle; according to reports. They both worked for different companies.
The argument escalated when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired it, and the woman was injured near 77th Street and Sutter Avenue.
Both drivers fled the area and no arrests were announced Sunday morning. The police investigation is ongoing.
