Crime – Freiburg im Breisgau:Freiburg versus Mannheim: Disturbances from Ultras in the game

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Some disruptions from fan groups of both teams occurred during the game between SC Freiburg II and SV Waldhof Mannheim. As the police announced on Saturday, 80 Freiburg supporters are said to have pulled through the city before the game of the third soccer league and tried to get to the Mannheim Ultras in a restaurant. According to the police, a confrontation was barely prevented. The officers then checked some of the clubs’ fan groups. A police officer is said to have been attacked and other officers were insulted.
After the game, there were further arguments outside the stadium. In addition to verbal provocations, the Mannheim fans also tore down a fence at a restaurant. The police were able to prevent a fight. A man from Mannheim is said to have spat at a police officer.
Later on Saturday evening, hooded Freiburg supporters attacked Mannheim fans in downtown Freiburg and threw bottles at them. The police have started an investigation.
