REPUBLIC OF BOBOTOH – Persib Bandung is confirmed to be playing the first match of the three League 1 series for the 2021-2022 season, against Persija Jakarta.
The match between Persib and Persija is planned to be held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Persib have good capital to face this rivalry-laden duel, with consecutive wins in the last five matches.
While Persija recorded less impressive results throughout the second series, with only one win, two draws and two defeats.
But Persib must face two unfavorable situations when facing Persija later.
Igbonefo Yellow Card Accumulation
That’s because Victor Igbonefo certainly absent due to accumulation of yellow cards.
The naturalized defender had to serve a one-time ban for having pocketed three yellow cards.
Igbonefo received his third yellow card this season, when Persib defeated Persela Lamongan, Thursday 4 November 2021.
Igbonefo’s first yellow card this season, was obtained when Persib faced Borneo FC in the 4th week and the second yellow card in the 5th week against Tira Persikabo 1973.
Player Called National Team
The second problem is that Persib had to release some of their players to the national team.
Igbonefo, apart from the accumulation of yellow cards, also has to fulfill the call for the Indonesian national team which will try out against Afghanistan and Myanmar on November 16 and 25 2021.
Not only Ezra and Igbonefo, Mohammed Rashid is also likely to be absent due to being called up to defend the Palestinian national team for the 2021 Arab Cup.
Rashid had to leave Persib in mid-November 2021, to defend the Palestinian national team in the 2021 Arab Cup.
A summons from the Palestinian Football Federation, PFA, to Rashid has been sent to Persib since mid-September 2021.
In the letter, it was stated that Rashid had to join the Palestinian national team from November 17 to December 2021.
Rashid is projected to be included in the Palestinian national team squad that will compete in the Arab Cup which is planned to be held from November 30 to December 18, 2021.
Before competing in the 2021 Arab Cup, Rashid and colleagues are scheduled to undergo a training camp in Egypt, starting in mid-November 2021.
The Palestinian national team in the 2021 Arab Cup is in Group C along with the two leading countries, Morocco and Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
In the first match, the Palestinian national team will face Morocco on December 1, 2021. Then they will face Saudi Arabia (December 4) and Jordan (December 7).
The calling of Rashid by the Palestinian national team to the Arab Cup made Persib certain to play without the bald player, for at least three weeks.
It could even be longer if Palestine qualify for the next round.**
