The jury took an untraditional approach when this year’s coach was chosen. Below you can see who won the 13 different prizes at Idrettsgalla Sør.

Saturday night, the sport in Sørlandet paid tribute to itself. In Sør Amfi in Arendal, over 500 were gathered when our local sports heroes were made fun of.
Achievements from the last two years were valid as the corona pandemic ensured that last year’s gala was canceled.
It is worth noting that the jury had taken an untraditional approach in the category «coach of the year». All three nominees – biathlon coach Roger Grubben, sand volleyball coach Jetmund Berntsen and handball coach Ole Gustav Gjekstad – won prizes.
The reason is that their students have all delivered results on the top shelf.
Marte Olsbu Røiseland won a medal in all seven exercises in the biathlon world championships in Anterselva – including five golds. While national team coach Jetmund Berntsen was central when Anders Mol and Christian Sørum won gold in the Tokyo Olympics. In addition, Ole Gustav Gjekstad led the Vipers to gold in the Champions League.
Here you can see who was nominated: Here are the nominees.
