In full reincorporation to face-to-face classes and in the face of doubts about the effectiveness of the Cansino vaccine they received, teachers from Querétaro demand the application of a booster dose against Covid-19.
The coordinator of the Unit of Services for Basic Education of Querétaro (USEBEQ), Raúl Iturralde Olvera, warned that there is concern from the teachers, since in May they received the application of this development, which is a single dose.
The Cansino vaccine has not been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use in the face of the pandemic; Furthermore, it is not accepted in European countries and the United States.
It should also be noted that it is packaged in Querétaro at the Drugmex company located in El Marqués.
It was between May 19 and 21 that 95.2% of the education sector staff were immunized with this single-dose vaccine, and then another 2,000 teachers received Pfizer. The educational authorities have also reported that in total there are 52 thousand people from the educational sector of the state.
Meanwhile, the state official pointed out that it is necessary to apply another dose of this vaccine, so that they are more protected against the disease, since this way hospitalizations are avoided.
“I think so, because they have expressed concern in this regard, and it is better that they are more protected and that in this way it can be avoided, although as has already been demonstrated, the possible avoidance is not avoided, if the severity of the disease ”, he stressed.
He affirmed that the application of the vaccine against Covid-19 corresponds to the federal government, so it is they who must convene the vaccination campaign if a second booster is authorized.
