Manchester derby goes to City – 2-0 at Old Trafford

Sport

Manchester United have suffered another setback in the English Premier League. The football record champions had no chance at home in the derby against Manchester City on Saturday, had no ideas and deservedly lost 2-0 to their local rivals. So coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been criticized for a long time, has to tremble more than ever about his job.

ManCity celebrates Derby win over United

The “Red Devils” showed a poor performance in front of their own audience at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo’s team fell behind early on due to an own goal by Eric Bailly (7th). Shortly before half-time, Bernardo Silva (45th) increased for the superior “Citizens” of coach Pep Guardiola. The hosts acted too harmlessly in the second half and after the substitutions of Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Donny van de Beek. United goalkeeper David de Gea prevented an even bigger derby defeat.

Recently, things seemed to be improving again for ManUnited. After the hefty 5-0 home defeat against Liverpool, Solskjaer’s team won 3-0 at Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday and won 2-2 at Atalanta Bergamo in the Champions League during the week. But now the record champion in the league table is increasingly losing the connection.
