At least eight people have died and dozens have been injured in the US state of Texas as a result of a human tide during the first night of the Astroworld Festival macro music festival, at the NRG Park sports and leisure complex in the city of Houston.
According to the first investigations, the incident took place during one of the first concerts of the night, the one starring the rapper Travis Scott, when a crowd of people gathered in front of the stage and “began to crush the people who were in the front row ”, as explained by the Houston Fire Chief, Samuel Peña.

“So far we have transported 17 people to hospitals. Eleven of them were in cardiac arrest, “added Peña in the first appearance before the media after the tragedy, without giving more details for the moment.
All the festival events scheduled for this Saturday have been canceled, the organizers have informed the local chain KHOU11.
